Station 26 responded immediately with two crews. Due to a second alarm dwelling fire in Essex, the area was already depleted. Engine 261, normally 5th due, was second arriving and Squad 262 was first special service. This fire also went to a second alarm due to the structure size and occupancy. E261 arrived on the hydrant and stretched a second attack line up to the fire apartment on the third floor. S262 conducted searches above the fire floor. Crews operated for almost 4 hours performing overhaul and smoke removal. Special Unit 267 handled one medical call while units were out.
